Pregnant!

Whether you are pregnant
for the first time or the 7th, each pregnancy is not only a new experience, but a
miracle. I have given birth five times and each one had its own special
ups and downs. My first child was born at 28 weeks, and only weighed 2 lbs
7 oz. I carried my last child the longest, which goes against all the old
wives tales of pregnancies getting shorter with each one! Each delivery
was different, with its own characteristics. But, each was also preparing
me for how unique each child would be.
Remember that all pregnancies are
different. Your sister may have a two day labor (poor thing), but you may
end up with a two hour labor (lucky girl). So in this part of the site I
will tell you a little about each of my pregnancies and how they were similar
and different.
Now I must let you know that I am very much pro-breastfeeding. But I am
not a fanatic about it. My goal is to help babies get as much breast milk
as possible. I never push a woman to do what she is not comfortable
with. I inform, educate, and even invent ways to help. But if it is
not the right thing for the mom, then we try to make the best plan for her and
her baby.
